Testing new + FREE material on roads

Thurs, May 8th, 7:30pm - Hello, SLE, yesterday our Road Crew brought in 24 loads of FREE base material with ground asphalt. The project also included another 10 hours of FREE grading.

The materials were distributed in rougher low areas on the back of CDA as well as Fernan. This was just in time for the brief rains last night.

Rough grading was done. However, with more rain expected early next week, these areas will receive additional grading once our operators have more moisture to work with.

There are three goals to this latest project:

1. Fill pothole sections and build-up low areas

2. Test a FREE blended product for more binding

3. Reduce dust

Please bear with this phased project, which will be completed shortly.

There are larger pieces mixed in, which again, will be more finely graded early next week. Even smaller pieces will break down with additional grading and road use.

Other in-need areas including the far south side of Priest River will also soon be graded.
