ROAD REPORT -Sun, Mar 29th, 4:30pm

Sun, Mar 29th, 4:30pm - ROAD REPORT: Hello SLE, spring cleanup continued through the weekend. Here’s the update on work completed on both days…

Sat, Mar 28th - Every part of Priest River was graded and rolled. CDA from Priest all the way to Treeport exit got graded and rolled as well. Spirit Drive also got graded.

Sun, Mar 29th - Liberty from roundabout to Priest River and St. Joe entrance as well as CDA from entrance all the way back to the North St. Joe Treeport exit were fine-tuned with grader and roller one last time before we hand back our roller rental tomorrow.

Speeds are really picking up. Please slow down to preserve our unpaved roads.

Thanks again for your patience with the time it takes to complete seasonal road maintenance on top of time-sensitive improvement projects. Again, weather (and road conditions from weather such as rain, frozen ground and fallen trees from wind storms) is a factor that we have to work around and wait for the right moment to maximize results and budget invested.

I know it can be frustrating waiting for work to be done this time of year. But such is life in North Idaho in a rural community with unpaved roads. It can be a challenge especially during spring breakup. But I hope you agree we are here for the space, privacy and rustic beauty and not the ease of a densely-populated suburban setting.

Thanks for pulling together as a community and gritting through the process. It’s worth it to be in one of the last places in the area that long-timers say still looks like North ID. It’s something to be proud of. I know I am.

If you have questions that aren’t already answered in recent reports (link below), feel free to reach out to me at roads@spiritlakeeast.org. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Jon Dore, Road Chair
