Road Report - Fri, Mar 13th, 5:45pm

Road Report - Friday, March 13th, 5:45pm - Hello SLE. Here we are in winter again after a pretty wild wind storm on Wednesday night.

While, as most of you already know and a reminder went out just yesterday, the fallen trees on the road are the responsibility of the homeowners of properties from where they fell. Thanks to all who helped to clear trees beyond their own lots. The invitation remains open to anyone who may need assistance. We’d be happy to find help for you.

As for today, we’ve not gotten enough snow for plowing to be necessary (yet) and we’re expecting rain later this evening. But we’ll continue to monitor, and depending on how things shake out, we may need to plow, clear the slush or rain will do that for us.

This is a challenge with road maintenance, as I’m sure you’d imagine. Obviously additional grading is now on hold as we get through these latest changes in the weather.

We are aware of roads that still need attention. The Road Crew will get to them as soon as conditions allow. For now, you can see in the March Minutes (posted earlier today) for a report on work done so far and the reclaimed asphalt project that’s still upcoming.

Regarding google form submissions…I always read them and respond in one way or another, whether to the individual to answer a specific question that doesn’t pertain to all or in a report for all to see (or to answer more than one person). Some will submit more than one of the same message after I’ve posted publicly re: that topic. I know there are lots of posts and comments on social media. If you haven’t heard from me, please check the blog or social media, and you’ll likely find your answer there.

If you still have a question that hasn’t yet been answered in my public reports, feel free to email me directly at roads@spiritlakeeast.org. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding when weather (or conditions from previous weather) delays our work. I’ll continue to keep you posted.

Lastly, driving the roads today, I understand it’s fun to hop on the quad and take it for a rip. But please refrain from doing donuts in the intersections and roundabouts. It’s tough enough keeping these roads together without the OHVs ripping them up.

Have a great weekend.
