Not Approved to Work on our Roads? You’ll Get Billed.
SAT, AUG 2, 2025, 1:15pm
Good afternoon, SLE, just stopped another homeowner from damaging our roads with their own equipment. They will be receiving a bill for all repairs.
This is a repeat offender causing problems on our roads. So, they’ve also been notified that this is their last warning before we involve the sheriff, and press charges.
Please be aware, the roads are handled by the Road Crew, and sanctioned homeowners who we’ve partnered up with and who know what they are doing with our approval. If you are NOT one of those people, do NOT take your equipment out on the roads. You WILL get a bill, and depending on the situation, charges may be filed.
As for our roads, they WERE in fine condition for the season, and there WAS no need for additional grading, which cannot be done this time of year anyway as it is too dry.
So, while we’d love to grade now to fix the damage done today by this homeowner that created berms, dispersed rock, and removed the beginnings of our crown we’ve been working to rebuild (and even exposed dirt in some areas), it is simply too dry.
This is also why we need to wait on cleanup of previous damage done by other homeowners ripping around on our roads and doing donuts in our intersections with their side-by-sides, which is another matter and one that I was planning to address today, but here we are now with a new problem. So, I’ll be addressing the side-by-side issue separately, and tomorrow.
Unfortunately, all repairs need to wait until we have more moisture, so the work will be meaningful. If we do it now when it is too dry, the work won’t last, it’ll dull our cutting edges on bigger rocks (with no give in the ground), and more dust will be created as it was today by the homeowner.
